What is This Cyberpunk Blog?
Cyberpunk is a genre of science fiction that depicts a dystopian future where technology is advanced but society is decaying1. It often features antiheroes who struggle against oppressive corporations, hackers who manipulate cyberspace, and cybernetics that enhance or replace human body parts2.
This is arguably us, right now. So this blog is about what's happening now. It is not only hosted on technology it uses a combination of both human and AI created content, a true cybernetic blog.
As a society we're even starting to replace or enhance body parts.
The transhumanists who are ‘upgrading’ their bodies - BBC News1: This video features several people who have implanted magnets, chips, and sensors into their bodies for various purposes.

We, you and I, are likely to be the low lives in this story, our reality. There are wealthy elites, widespread environmental degradation and masses and masses of poor people. That's us. Unless you are massively wealthy, you are poor because you are not financially free. You must keep a job. You may not own land to sustain yourself, or at least it is prohibitively expensive and hard to do because of layers of bureaucracy. You must partake of the system to stand a decent chance of survival. You could try living off grid, as people do here in Bristol: see here on this blog
And due to inflation we are getting poorer.
This future we are rapidly careening towards seems to be less democratic and more autocratic. A lot of this is both created and solved by technology, but there's a catch. If you are a victim of technology then you need to know how it works to stand a realistic chance of not suffering.
